馃捈 Job Summary: As an IBM i Engineer, you’ll be the backbone of our IBM i infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation, support, and maintenance of the IBM i operating system and associated hardware. Your role involves deep technical troubleshooting, performance optimization, and leading key projects such as new customer onboarding. You’ll collaborate closely with both customers and internal teams, ensuring top-notch service and support.
馃敡 Key Responsibilities:
- 馃枼️ Perform installation, upgrades, configuration, and administration of IBM i operating systems and hardware.
- 馃敡 Lead moderate to complex systems administration tasks, including OS patching, subsystem configuration, and network services setup.
- 馃洜️ Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- 馃挰 Communicate effectively with customers and team members to achieve project goals and milestones.
- 馃洝️ Advocate for customer needs while ensuring compliance with all processes and standards.
- 馃攳 Develop and implement monitoring tools to enhance system reliability and availability.
- 馃捈 Lead technical projects and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
馃帗 Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 3+ years of IBM i/AS400/i-series engineering experience.
- Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of System i, including OS, security, work management, TCP/IP, and more.
- Preferred: Experience with SEQEL, GUMBO, ROBOT, and MIMIX, and familiarity with RPG/CL programming and SQL.
